Polyone (POL)

8/24/07

Current Price:                      $9.05                    Outlook:

Three-Month Target Price:  $10.25                               Polyone (POL), a company that, through its subsidiaries, makes synthetics and other engineered materials. The company has sustained consistent growth the past four years. With a low an uncharacteristically low Price/Sales ratio and continued Quarterly Earnings and Revenue growth, POL is a steal. Polyone has a global presence with markets in the U.S., Asia, Australia and Europe. While some would even suggest holding onto Polyone longer than 3-months, long term holds are not my style.

Highlights and Summary:

1) Earnings

Polyone has enjoyed strong and solid earnings growth for several years. Net Income has increased in the past 3 consecutive years, even though gross profit remained flat. Net Income for the December 2005 quarter increased 40 million from the previous quarter.

2) Revenue

Polyone’s revenue has increased steadily over the past years. Quarterly revenue increased by 15% this quarter (yoy). Analysts predict revenue for the March 2006 quarter to be 625M as compared with the same time last year of 576M. That is an 8.5% increase (yoy). The earnings call is scheduled for May 3rd, and the stock continues to rise.

3) Fundamental Analysis

P/S is a mere .33, which greatly outshines the unimpressive P/B of 1.97. The company is grossly under priced, with an Enterprise Value far greater than the Market Cap.

The only possible downside of Polyone is its high Debt/Equity ratio of 1.55

4) Technical Analysis

It is the perfect time to buy because POL recently hit a break out point and with the earnings report approaching quickly, POL will likely continue its current uptrend.
